What must I do to be saved?
The Bible says that "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). This means that we are ALL sinners and in deep trouble. Worse yet, The Bible goes on to say that "the wages of sin is DEATH" in Romans 6:23. So can we make up for all of this by doing good deeds and keeping the Ten Commandments? No, because God also tells us, "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight." (Romans 3:20) But, good thing for us, that's not how it ends. "But God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified BY HIS BLOOD, we shall be SAVED from wrath through him." (Romans 5:8-9) And then it says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt BELIEVE IN THY HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED." (Romans 10:9)
So The Bible is clear; only by placing your faith in Christ Jesus and asking him to save you can get you to heaven.
